Meet Dr. Marie Allen

Dr. Allen served in public education for over 30 years as a teacher and school administrator. Her leadership in diverse school environments has provided Dr. Allen with a deep understanding of educational systems, individualized education programs and the importance of collaboration between families and schools. Empowering families to navigate the complexities of special education is key to success. Dr. Allen warks directly with families to advocate for their children and secure the resources needed to thrive. Combining academic expertise with real-world leadership experience, Dr. Allen offers thoughtful, strategic, and personalized services and she is committed to inclusion, equity and student-centered practices.

 

Dr. Allen is known for her compassion for all children and support in developing their personal strengths and overcoming challenges in order to reach their full potential. She has co-taught mid to moderate special education students and students with academic and behavioral challenges. challenges. As a school principal, Dr. Allen supervised special education teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists and administrators overseeing IEP meetings. As an Alternative High School Principal, Dr. Allen developed career pathways, wraparound services and personlized learning. These programs engaged and motivated students who face a multitude of challenges and ultimately found their path to college and careers. 

 

Dr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Santa Clara University, Master of Arts in Education from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. inin Education from Claremont Graduate University. She has received numerous commendations and awards for her work and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates.
